About the Author

Janis Rice – Jan was born a Michigander and was raised in Rochester Hills. Earlier she was active in sports. An executive administrative assistant with Elias Brothers Big Boy, she later became a recruiter for corporate sales candidates. This was cut short, however, with the onset of Multiple Sclerosis. Since then she has dealt with a multitude of physical issues, the longest running, MS.

However, her story does not end here. Jan has been active in her church and community. She and her husband, Marshall, have established several businesses.

Marshal Rice – A native Michigander, Marshall was born in Pontiac. He studied industrial design at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit and Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles. His career began as an industrial designer, transitioned to design engineer and to substitute teacher. He holds a Bachelor of General Studies degree from Oakland University. Marshall also sings in the United Methodist church choir and plays flutes in the Waterford New Horizons Concert Band.

They currently reside in Keego Harbor, Michigan.
